This project was designed based on the concept of Child-Friendly Healthcare, which aims to create healthcare facilities that reduce children’s fear and anxiety through a design approach that is fun, interactive, and imaginative. The interior is no longer perceived as a rigid medical space, but rather as a play area that provides a positive experience throughout the treatment process.
The primary design inspiration is drawn from the colorful, story-filled world of children. The use of primary colors—such as red, blue, yellow, and green—combined with illustrations of clouds, house shapes, and familiar decorative elements creates a cheerful and warm atmosphere. The space’s identity is built around the “Circumcision House” theme, so that children feel they are in a safe, familiar, and friendly environment.
As the central element, the procedure area is designed to resemble a cartoon car, serving as both a focal point and a distraction for the child. This approach helps shift focus away from the medical procedure, making the treatment experience feel more comfortable and less stressful. The toy display and decorative area behind the treatment area further reinforce the playful atmosphere, creating an environment that fosters curiosity and excitement.
The waiting room and play area are placed side by side so that children have the opportunity to adapt to the environment before entering the treatment room. The presence of educational games, toy shelves, and abundant natural light streaming through large glass windows makes the space feel open, bright, and lively. This concept supports the psychological comfort of both children and their accompanying parents.
In addition to addressing users’ emotional needs, the spatial layout is designed to support the efficiency of medical services. The consultation, procedure, and administrative areas are arranged with a clear flow, facilitating the movement of healthcare staff without compromising patient privacy. Wood-patterned flooring was chosen to provide visual warmth, while the use of easy-to-clean materials ensures the facility meets healthcare hygiene standards.
Overall, this project presents a circumcision clinic that prioritizes the user experience through a blend of educational, attractive, and functional interior design. By creating an atmosphere that resembles a playroom rather than a medical space, this design aims to transform children’s perception of the circumcision process into a more enjoyable, safe, and memorable experience, while also providing parents with confidence and comfort as they accompany their children.
